Dave Rogowski presents the following:
Advice from past graduate students:
- Know the Code! - get a code from your advisor for the Stevens Hall copier and Long Distance
- Library - see the front desk, get on "the list", and you can check out a copier key (charge copies to your grant / save your dimes for food!)
- Before making a lot of copies in Stevens Hall, check out the campus Copy shop. It could be cheaper!
- NDSU Disquisition Guidelines - Don't even think about writing your disquisition without reading the guidelines first!
- Two Weeks - Be sure to file a 'request to schedule an examination' or 'green sheet' with the Graduate School two weeks before a graduate exam (ie. defense).
- Graduate Bulletin - Read it! It has the rules and regs that you need to know.
- Department Handbook - Read it too.
- If you work with Vertebrate Animals, you probably need authorization from the IACUC
- Forms - forms, including Out of State Travel authorization ,are found here.
- Graduate School forms are here
- NDSU computer stuff - Software Info, SAS, Other Stuff
- Check out the page at http://sevilleta.unm.edu/~ehdecker/bgsa_advice.html titled "Sound Advice for Graduate Students". Many of these apply to our department (or any department) as well.
- The CSU graduate orientation course page has a lot of useful info and references: http://www.cnr.colostate.edu/class_info/fw696/
